Instead of attaching semiconductors to fabric, an MIT team has found a way to add the technology right into the clothing fiber itself.

Professor and lead researcher Yoel Fink says the achievement in "smart," or functional, fabric will lead to a new kind of "Moore's Law," where performance and functionality accelerates at high, predictable level.

"By getting semiconductors into fibers now, we're going to see a similar type of revolution in the years ahead," Fink said in our Tech Briefs story.

What do you think? Will we see a new kind of "Moore's Law" with functional fabrics?
