Keysight Technologies (Santa Rosa, CA) announced a new capability that adds a high-performance spectrum analyzer to the PNA and PNA-X Series of microwave vector network analyzers (VNAs). This capability reduces test times and simplifies system connections. It adds high-speed spurious measurements in the instrument used to characterize S-parameters, compression, and distortion in satellite equipment, defense electronics, and commercial wireless devices. The VNA can perform simultaneous spectrum measurements on all test ports, and enables one-connection characterization of mixers, converters, amplifiers, modules, or subsystems. Example measurements include LO, RF, and IF feedthrough; harmonics; intermodulation products; and other higher-order mixing products.
