3D Position Sensor

Coriolis Flow Meter

AW-Lake’s, Oak Creek, WI, TRICOR Coriolis Flow Meters are being used to verify that accurate amounts of fiberglass resin are dispensed during the fabrication of molded panels. Each meter was networked into a multi-drop Modbus network connected to a PLC-based monitoring system that utilizes the pulse output from the meters to calculate flow for monitoring the resin-to-catalyst ratios in real time.

High-Sensitivity Accelerometer

With its new accelerometer series 8740A and 8788A, Kistler, Winterthur, Switzerland, presents IEPE accelerometers that combine extremely low weight and small size with minimal noise, for more accurate vibration measurements. They come in ranges of 5g, 10g, and 50g and feature wide frequency response. They differ from their predecessors in that they achieve their high accuracy and low noise through a ceramic shear element instead of P-Beam technology.

MEMS Pressure Sensor

Melexis, Tessenderlo, Belgium has launched the MLX90830, its first product to feature the new Triphibian technology. This miniaturized MEMS pressure sensor handles gas and liquid media measurement from 2 to 70 bar. The factory-calibrated device measures the absolute pressure and delivers a proportional analog output signal. It makes the module cost-effective by simplifying system integration into the latest electric vehicle (EV) thermal management systems.

InvenSense, Chicago, IL, has announced its SmartAutomotive IAM-20381HT high-temperature monolithic 3-axis Motion Tracking accelerometer for non-safety automotive applications, such as navigation, infotainment systems, telematics, and more. The full SmartAutomotive non-safety product line is now rated at 105°C. The new stand-alone 3-axis MEMS accelerometer is offered in a 3 × 3 × 0.75 mm (16-pin LGA) package and is automotive-qualified based on AEC-Q100 Grade 2.
