ABB, Warminster, PA, has introduced the RVG200 videographic data recorder with touchscreen technology. The recorder provides easy access to process data for onsite operators, while enabling secure remote access to the same data from any tablet, smartphone, PC, or other networked device. Using iconbased menus or by swiping through the screens, operators can find the process data they need and view it in formats such as individual or grouped charts, bar graphs, or digital indicator displays. The unit is integrated into a plant network through a 100-Mbit/s Ethernet connection. The recorder can notify operators via email of process alarms or critical process events, automatically sent to their PC or smartphone. It can also be configured to routinely email summary reports of process conditions. Up to 24 universal analog inputs enable direct connection of mA, mV, TC, RTD, voltage, and digital signals. Front and rear USB ports permit users to connect a variety of peripheral devices such as a USB memory drive.
