Altech Corporation, Flemington, NJ, announced its C-TEC Series of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). They have improved backup power safety and robustness for industrial, automation, and IT applications because of their high-performance, long-life ultracapacitors as the energy storage medium. Unlike lead-acid batteries, the ultracapacitors are virtually maintenance-free, offering a long service life, high cycle stability, and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO). Features include fast charging with active charging current control to ensure readiness for subsequent power events. The series includes DC models for 12V, 24V, and 48V systems, as well as AC models. A USB interface provides users with numerous options for customized settings and remote monitoring of operating and charging status.
