5 MP Polarization Color Camera

LUCID Vision Labs, Inc. (Richmond, BC, Canada) recently released a color version of its 5 Megapixel Phoenix polarization camera. The 5 MP global shutter sensor with a pixel size of 3.45µm and frame rates of up to 24 fps is based on the popular IMX250 Sony Pregius CMOS color sensor with polarizing filters added to the pixel. The sensor has four different directional polarizing filters (0°, 90°, 45°, and 135°) on every 2 by 2 array of pixels. The Phoenix color polarization camera allows users to compute both color and angle of polarization information for each image pixel.

Surface Texture Visualization/Analysis Software

Digital Metrology Solutions, Inc. (Columbus, IN) have announced the release of OmniSurf3D for 3D surface texture visualization and analysis. The new software provides a suite of three-dimensional surface analysis tools. The OmniSurf3D software package's primary strength is its streamlined interface which conveniently puts all basic settings in one place: preprocessing to account for missing pixels, outliers, etc.; several common reference geometries for removing overall shape to reveal the surface texture; filtering to highlight large-scale waviness or fine-scale roughness; and dozens of ISO and custom Parameters to describe the most critical aspects of the surface.

Large-Format CCD Cameras

Princeton Instruments (Trenton, NJ) announced the immediate availability of two large- format in-vacuum CCD cameras engineered specifically for direct detection in VUV, EUV, and x-ray imaging applications from ~10 eV to 30 keV. Rated at 10-9 Torr, PI-MTE3 2048B and 4096B camera models utilize 2k x 2k (30.7 mm x 30.7 mm) and 4k x 4k (61.4 mm x 61.4 mm) back- illuminated CCDs, respectively, to offer >95% peak quantum efficiency. Due to their four-port readout architecture, these new, low-noise, 16-bit cameras provide frame rates up to 7x to 10x higher than previous-generation two-port cameras. The cameras' efficient liquid cooling results in low dark current, facilitating long integration times, whereas an advanced thermal design permits 24/7 operation in-vacuum.
