CRAIC Technologies (San Dimas, CA) announced that CRAIC Technologies microspectrometers will now feature Windows 11 operating systems in which CRAIC Lambdafire™ instrument control and spectral analysis software will run. Scientists and engineers using Lambdafire™ running on Windows 11 will immediately notice a redesigned desktop for a more unified user experience. Windows 11 will further improve the microspectrometers' usability with improved memory management and enhanced graphics support. Finally, as Windows 11 is at the beginning of its life cycle, Microsoft will be supporting it with security and features updates for many years.
Zoom Lens for Cooled MWIR Cameras
MKS Instruments, Inc. (Andover, MA) announced the Ophir® SupIR 60-1200 MWIR f/4 lens designed for SXGA/HD 10µm and 15µm VGA pitch FPA (focal plane array) cooled MWIR cameras. This new lens is equipped with an automated zoom interface and continuous zoom. The Ophir SupIR 60-1200mm f/4 has a horizontal field-of-view (H-FOV) of 0.3°-8.6°. It is the newest addition to the SupIR SXGA/HD 10µm detectors compatible series of lenses that designed to provide an operating temperature range from -32ºC to +85ºC. These lenses feature Ophir's abrasion-resistant, anti-reflective (AR) coatings; IP 67 sealing; and a mechanical design that withstands severe shock and vibration.
Multispectral Line Scan Camera
Teledyne DALSA (Waterloo, Canada) released its multispectral Camera Link HS (CLHS) line scan camera. This latest high-resolution line scan camera provides spectrally independent RGB and NIR outputs, making it capable of detecting defects both on and under the surface of a variety of materials. The Linea ML 8k multispectral camera uses Teledyne DALSA’s latest CMOS 8k quad linear sensor with a 5x5 μm pixel size and delivers a maximum line rate of 70 kHz x 4 using CLHS fiber optic interface. The camera also has built-in SFP+ transceivers that convert electrical signals to optical signals and connects directly to fiber optic cables using LC connectors.
GaAlAs IRLED Illuminator
Opto Diode Corporation (Camarillo, CA), an ITW company, introduced an infrared light-emitting diode (IRLED) in a convenient TO-66 package for heatsink attachment, the OD-669. The high-power gallium aluminum arsenide (GaAlAs) IRLED illuminator features a peak emission of 880 nm with an extremely wide angle of emission. Total power output ranges from 390 mW (minimum) to 500 mW (typical) under test conditions at 300 mA. The spectral bandwidth at 50% is 80 nm, and the half intensity beam angle is typically 120 degrees. The forward voltage of the OD-669 ranges from 13.5 volts (typical) to 15 volts (maximum); reverse breakdown voltage is at minimum 5 volts and 30 volts (typical). Capacitance is 11 pF; the rise time and fall time is typically 3 µsec.
LC-Compatible Optical Transceivers
Yokowo (Tempe, AZ) has expanded its fiber optic transceiver line with an LC Type multimode transceiver. The LC Type M optical transceiver is a robust metal version compatible with LC Duplex connectors for use in vision systems in industrial machinery, broadcast, mining, oil & gas exploration, transportation (subways, trains), aviation, medical engineering and Industry 4.0 applications. The LC Type M transceiver is 1/3 the size of SFP+ transceivers, features a low power consumption of 150 mW, and is capable of high-speed data transmission speeds ranging from 50Mbps to 12.5Gbps, with a signal format of NRZ-PRBS231-1.
