What’s the most exciting part of your work?
What excites me most about working at Emerson is the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams globally. The diverse backgrounds and perspectives within these teams enhance our innovation and drive better business outcomes. I am particularly proud of co-sponsoring an Employee Resource Group at Emerson that promotes cultural diversity and supports colleagues working away from their home country.
What is one major challenge you’ve faced in your career and how did you overcome it?
Over my 10 years at Emerson, I have worked across four different businesses, often stepping into leadership roles despite being the least experienced member in the sector. Initially this was uncomfortable, but I learned how to accelerate my learning, build trust with my team fast, and leverage both their expertise and my experience to make informed decisions and implement strategic changes. This approach allowed me to build strong foundations to drive impactful business transformations.
What advice do you have for young women engineers aspiring to be leaders?
My key advice is to trust yourself and embrace challenges. Taking risks, even when daunting, can lead to significant learning and growth. Seek opportunities that push you beyond your comfort zone, as they are essential for your personal development. Additionally, personal life and career are not mutually exclusive — a healthy balance will keep you grounded as you advance in your career.
